Most people who become famous aren’t able to sustain their success and quickly become old news. Artist Andy Warhol is credited with coining the expression “15 minutes of fame” during a 1968 exhibition of his work in Sweden. He said, “In the future, everyone will be world-famous for 15 minutes.” These words turned out to be true as the public has seen people in reality television, movies, and real-life scandals lose their celebrity status as quickly as they get it.
Here’s a list of 13 celebrities who ruined themselves the minute they became famous.
13. Levi Johnston
Levi Johnston was the fiancé of Bristol Palin, the daughter of former U.S. Vice Presidential candidate Sarah Palin. He reached public recognition when Sarah Palin announced Bristol was five months pregnant with his baby. She also announced that her daughter and Levi were engaged. Levi received media attention as Sarah Palin was running with John McCain who was a 2008 Presidential Candidate. In 2009 the pair broke up, just a year after their son Tripp Johnston was born.
They both told the public they were going to work things out and became engaged again in 2010. Three weeks later they broke it off. Levi went on to give numerous interviews on national television where he talked about dating Bristol and what it was like being around Sarah Palin. At one point he was on The Tyra Banks Show and The Early Show. After giving an interview for Vanity Fair in which he spread more rumors about the Palins, Levi apologized the next year. His celebrity status steadily declined although he tried to pursue an acting career, and attempted to run for office in Alaska. However, he dropped out of the race because his approval rating was so low. He is now married to Sunny Oglesby and the couple have a daughter.

However, Omarosa felt like the producers of The Apprentice made it seem like she was a villain. While on The Oprah Winfrey Show, the outspoken woman accused someone of calling her a racial slur. That was one of many controversial interviews Omarosa gave on national shows. For the next several years she was featured on various shows, ranging from The Surreal Life and Fear Factor.
She went back on Celebrity Apprentice in 2008 as the only person from the first season of the NBC show. She quickly started fighting with celebrity Piers Morgan and eventually got fired.
