The word fan comes from the word, fanatic. Fortunately most fans are the adoring kind and not in a fanatical way. Sometimes the love is returned. Celebrities are only human and all of us seek to find that one true “fan” who loves us just as is. As they say you never know where you’ll find that person. They too seek their soulmate; the one person in the universe who can enrich life in a way no other human being can. And when we meet them it doesn’t really matter how or who they are.
As it turned out, actress Sandra Bullock was a fan of Jesse James before they met. She took her 10 year old godson on a fan tour to visit the set of James’ reality series, “Monster Garage”. As it turned out, Bullock might regret that visit now, but that’s another story. There are many instances where stars have found their significant others in the ranks of their fans and we’re going to tell you about ten such cases here.
10. Danny Bonaduce and Amy Railsback
Danny Bonaduce began dating, Amy Railsback, in April 2007. They met at a Starbucks in the Los Angeles area. Railsback, who is 23 years his junior, was formerly a substitute school teacher. She now manages Bonaduce’s career full-time, and runs his company, Gravel Tones Productions, Inc. Railsback is occasionally seen in sketches on The Smoking Gun Presents: World’s Dumbest… on truTV. Danny proposed to Amy in March 2009, and the couple married on November 22, 2010 at the Four Seasons on Maui, Hawaii. They maintain homes in both Los Angeles and Seattle.
9. Jeff Bridges and Susan Geston
Oscar-winner Jeff Bridges recalls his first meeting and subsequent romance with Susan Geston whom he met while she was working as a waitress/maid on the set of Bridges’ film “Rancho Deluxe.” “It took me all day to finally get up the nerve to ask her out. And she said no.” said Bridges. Obviously, the relationship ended up working out and the couple has been together for 35 years. But Bridges says he knew after one week of shooting that he was in love and that Geston would be his wife.
8. Kelsey Grammar and Kayte Walsh
Kelsey Grammer apparently regrets his actions in regard to the way he exited from his marriage to Camille Grammer. He said: ‘I should have come home from England when I first met Kayte and just said, “Listen I’ve met somebody and this hasn’t been working for a long time.” I regret not doing that.’ Kayte Walsh expressed similar regrets about her role in the end of the Grammer’s 13-year marriage, saying that she is “not proud” of the way her relationship with the actor began because he was still married. Yet and still, the couple wed on February 25, 2011, just two weeks after the finalization of his divorce in a very lavish affair. The wedding was held in the ballroom at New York City’s Plaza Hotel, at a cost of more than $100,000 for the reception.
7. Patrick Dempsey and Jillian Fink
Patrick Dempsey and Jillian Fink met each other after he booked an appointment with her to get his hair cut. The two clicked immediately and started flirting. Dempsey and Fink got married July 31, 1999. The couple have three children, daughter Tallulah Fyfe (born February 20, 2002) and twins Sullivan Patrick and Darby Galen (born February 1, 2007). By the way, Entertainment Weekly put Dempsey’s hair on its end-of-the-decade “best-of” list, saying, “What made “Grey’s Anatomy” a mega-medi-hit? It could have something to do with creator Shonda Rhimes’ scalpel-sharp writing…or McDreamy’s (Dempsey) impossibly luxurious man hair. By the way, if you’re wondering, Fink still cuts Dempsey’s hair.
6. Adam Sandler and Jackie Titone
Adam Sandler met his future wife Jacqueline Samantha Titone during the filming of 1999’s “Big Daddy.” She was cast as the waitress from The Blarney Stone Bar. While Jackie Titone doesn’t share the grand celebrity stature associated with her husband Adam Sandler, both of them know the struggles of being an actor in the film industry. Titone converted to Judaism for Sandler in 2000 and they married 3 years later on June 22, 2003. They have two daughters, Sadie Madison Sandler (born 2006) and Sunny Madeline Sandler (born 2008).
5. Nicolas Cage and Alice Kim
The third time may be the charm for double divorcee, actor Nicolas Cage. Cage met his current wife Alice Kim a former waitress who previously worked at the Los Angeles restaurant Kabuki at the Los Angeles-based Korean nightclub, Le Privé. Kim apparently loved Cage’s work, numbers were exchanged, and the duo turned up pregnant sometime later. The two wed at a private North California ranch on July 30, 2004. Their son Kal-El, (after Superman’s birth name) was born on October 3, 2005.
4. Anne Hathaway and Adam Shulman
Hathaway’s romantic relationship with Italian real estate developer Raffaello Follieri, during which she participated in the development of the charitable Follieri Foundation, became a cause of great concern. In June 2008, it was investigated by the IRS, for failure to file required nonprofit information forms. Citing concern that this investigation and other legal issues in which Follieri was involved could hurt her acting career, Hathaway ended their relationship in mid-June, 2008. The actress found love in longtime fan and lesser known actor Adam Shulman. The two met on a movie set that Adam was working on. In November 2008, the couple began dating. They became engaged in November 2011 and were married on September 29, 2012, in Big Sur, California in an interfaith Jewish and Roman Catholic service.
3. Matt Damon and Luciana Barroso
Matt Damon knew he had found the one when he spotted then-bartender Luciana Barroso, at a bar in Miami in 2003, while filming the prophetically titled Stuck on You. “Something incredible happened the first time I saw her.” Damon said. The couple married in a private civil ceremony on December 9, 2005, at the Manhattan Marriage Bureau near New York’s City Hall. Damon became an instant father to Barroso’s then-7-year-old daughter, Alexia. The couple went on to have three more daughters together — Isabella, 5, Gia, 3, and Stella, 15 months. “I can’t imagine my life having not gone down that road. I can’t imagine what my life would be now. I don’t want to imagine it,” he said.
2. Reese Witherspoon and Jim Toth
Reese Witherspoon didn’t necessarily find her Prince Charming away from the bright lights of Hollywood, but her husband, Jim Toth is a behind-the-scenes kind of guy. A CAA talent agent, Toth and the actress met at a party when one of Toth’s drunk buddies hit on Reese. “Jim came over and said, ‘Please excuse my friend, he’s just broken up with someone,'” Witherspoon recalled. “I remember thinking … Jim was a really good friend, pulling (his drunk pal) out of that situation. That’s just kind of who he is, a really good person.” Reese, who has had high-profile relationships with ex-husband Ryan Phillippe and ex-boyfriend Jake Gyllenhaal, ended up falling for the tall, handsome, down-to-earth guy. They married on March 26, 2011 in Ojai, California at Libbey Ranch, Witherspoon’s country estate (since sold). Their son, Tennessee James Toth, was born on September 27, 2012
1. Elvis Presley and Priscilla Wagner
Even at 14, Priscilla Wagner was already 100% sure she’d become the wife of Elvis Presley. The young girl asked her family friend to introduce her to him. Elvis and Priscilla met on September 13, 1959, during a party at Elvis’ home in Bad Nauheim, Germany, during his stay in the army. She was many years younger but she made a huge imprecision on the future King of Rock’N’Roll with her much older appearance. When Priscilla was 21, Elvis proposed and she accepted. The couple married on May 1, 1967 but divorced 12 years later.
