The Kardashians are the ideal type of TV family that a lot of people love to hate. Don’t get me wrong, it’s easy to be entertained by their crazy family antics but at some point, we must all ask ourselves, how did people like the Kardashians ever get famous? It’s hard to ignore the fact that Kim’s infamous sex tape is what initially launched the family into reality super-stardom, and it’s ridiculous scandals like a “leaked” sex tape that continues to keep them in the public eye. This is what causes some people to express their utter hatred for the Kardashian clan. Many celebrities have been quoted expressing their disdain for the popular reality family. Even President Obama has openly admitted that he doesn’t like when his daughters watch any of the Kardashian reality shows. For your enjoyment, here is a list of ten celebrities that have been quoted making fun of the Kardashians. They’re all making it perfectly clear that they dislike the popular TV family.
10. Jon Hamm
Jon Hamm has expressed his hatred for Kim Kardashian on multiple occasions. He started his rant against the reality star by calling her a “f—ing idiot.” After that, Hamm continued to make comments that really emphasized his disdain for Kim Kardashian. When he was asked if he wants to be a sex symbol he replied by saying, “Who cares, when it’s reduced to just that? You might as well be a Kardashian and have a sex tape.” Kim fired back at Hamm’s comments by calling them “careless.” Since then, Hamm has decided to stop commenting on the Kardashians, but not before he took one final punch. When responding to Kim’s comment, Hamm said, “I don’t think it was careless. I think it was accurate.”
9. Barack Obama
When the first lady spoke to iVIllage, she said this about the way that Obama feels about the Kardashian clan, “When it comes to the time that daughters Sasha and Malia spend watching television, Barack really thinks some of the Kardashians-when they watch that stuff-he doesn’t like it very much.” Apparently, Obama has recently banned all of the Kardashian reality shows from the White House. It seems like Barack and Michelle want to make sure that their children don’t pick up any bad habits from watching the Kardashians.
8. Daniel Craig
In an interview with GQ magazine, Daniel Craig discussed his dismay with the Kardashians and their fame by labeling them, “f—king idiots.” He also went on to say, “You see that and you think what, you mean all I have to do is behave like a f—ing idiot on television and then you’ll pay me millions. I’m not judging-well, I am obviously.” Apparently, Craig is less than enthused with the way that the Kardashians garnered their questionable fame, and how they continue to hold onto it by exposing their private lives.
7. Michael Buble
At one of his concerts in 2011, Micheal Bublé announced to the crowd, “Ladies and gentleman, I have a very special guest. Please welcome Kim Kardashian.” When the audience let out a collective gasp, Buble laughingly responded by saying, “Nah, just f—ing with you! That b**ch isn’t coming on my stage.” It seems that Buble is not too keen on the famous Kim Kardashian.
6. Mariah Carey
When Kim ended her 72-day marriage with Kris Humphries, after a ridiculously lavish wedding, a lot of celebrities had a few choice words for the reality star. Mariah Carey was one of these stars. She had this to say about Kim’s whirlwind marriage, “I’m a real person, I’m not going to put on a fake face for Hollywood. Sometimes [Nick and I] make each other mad, that’s why we aren’t divorced after four months. I’m sorry, I’m just saying.” Carey later claimed that her comments weren’t about Kim Kardashian, but she still ended up making a half-hearted apology.
5. Joel McHale
Even though Joel Mchale is in the E! Network family, just like the Kardashians, that doesn’t stop him from making fun of them on his show, The Soup. McHale has said in a few interviews that the Kardashian clan isn’t a big fan of him, and that he has been told to stop making fun of them on more than one occasion. Apparently, McHale isn’t really supposed to talk about the Kardashians on his show. McHale said, “With the Kardashians we’re not allowed to say they have a sex tape anymore because the network flips out.” But McHale continues to dig at the Kardashians anyway. At a White House correspondent’s dinner, he said this about the family, “I know the Kardashians are Republicans, because they’re always trying to screw black people.” It doesn’t look like McHale is going to stop making fun of the family anytime soon.
4. Ray J
Ray J made headlines when he released a single called, “I hit it first.” The song was clearly about his ex Kim Kardashian, who he made the infamous sex tape with. The music video for the song featured a Kim Kardashian look alike and the cover art for the single is a blurred out image of Kardashian wearing a bikini. Ray J has claimed that the song isn’t really about his ex but nobody is buying it. Kanye West responded to the dig on his now wife, by opening one of his songs with this line, “Brandy little sister lame and you know it now.”
3. Jonah Hill
Jonah Hill has had a few choice words to say about the Kardashian family. Hill said, “The fact that the Kardashians could be more popular than a show like Mad Men is disgusting. It’s a super disgusting part of our culture, but I still find it funny to make a joke about it.” Hill was responding to a dig he made about Kim’s marriage, calling it fake. Hill claimed that it was all a joke, but he still seems to be a Kardashian hater.
Cher shared her Kardashian hate through a series of Twitter rants. She tweeted, “I don’t watch reality! Never saw a Kardashian but these B****es should be Drop kicked down a freeway! Not kidding!” She later tweeted, “Is true Kardashian did Porno! I’m so F****n outa it!” After Cher’s followers started asking her why she hated the Kardashians so much, she claimed that she was talking about Bridezillas, but just got them mixed up with the Kardashians. Then she signed off of Twitter for the night. In the words of Cher, “Seems I put my Size 8 1/2’s in my mouth again!”
1. Reese Witherspoon
Celebrities tend to be angry about either one of two things regarding the Kardashians. Sometimes it’s Kim’s whirlwind marriage, and sometimes it’s the fact that the family rose to fame because of Kim’s sex tape, and of course sometimes it’s both. Reese Witherspoon seems to be angry at the whole sex tape fiasco. During a speech at the MTV movie awards, Witherspoon said, “When I came up in this business, if you made a sex tape, you were embarrassed and you hid it under your bed and if you took naked pictures of yourself on your cell phone, you hid your face.” Although Witherspoon didn’t directly name Kim, it’s pretty clear that at least part of her speech is aimed at the reality star.
