Even though Full House went off the air 20 years ago, it is still one of the most beloved shows of all time. The show chronicles the life of a widowed father after his brother-in-law and best friend move in to help raise his three daughters. The show is filled with family friendly laughs and always manages to teach its many viewers an important life lesson without being overly preachy. What’s more is that even after 20 years, Full House has such a dedicated fan base that Netflix has decided to produce a spin -off show called Fuller House and fans couldn’t be more thrilled. The new show will follow D.J Tanner after her husband dies and her best friend and sister move in to help her raise her children. Let us all hope that the newer version of Full House is just as heart warming as the previous. So to celebrate the upcoming Full House revival, below is an update on some of your Full House favorites. Some of these actors and actresses decided to continue to act after their run on Full House ended. Others, chose to go into different fields to explore new passions. Whatever these former Full House stars are up to now, I’m sure we’re all hoping to see them in the reboot.
10. Dave Coulier
Dave Coulier played the lovable Joey Gladstone, Danny’s brother-in-law, on Full House. On the show, Coulier was famous for his many impressions of famous characters like Popeye and Bullwinkle. Since his days on Full House, Coulier has had small parts on TV shows like Robot Chicken and How I Met Your Mother, but he has mostly focused on his stand-up career. He also appeared in Losing it with John Stamos, where he and his fellow Full House co-star talked about losing their virginities. Coulier will reprise his role as Joey in Fuller House.
9. Bob Saget
Bob Saget became one of the most beloved TV dads of all time when he starred as Danny Tanner on Full House. While Saget was starring on Full House, he also was the host of America’s Funniest Home Videos from 1989 to 1997, and had a stand up comedy routine that would definitely make Danny Tanner cringe. After Full House, Saget continued to appear in TV shows. He hosted 1 vs. 100 and starred in Raising Dad. However, his biggest role after Full House was narrating How I Met Your Mother. According to Candace Cameron Bure, Saget will be back for at least one episode on Fuller House.
8. Lori Loughlin
Lori Loughlin played Rebecca Donaldson, Danny’s co-anchor and Jessie’s eventual wife in Full House, making her the aunt of D.J, Stephanie and Michelle, and of course the mother of twin boys Nicky and Alex. After Full House ended, Loughlin continued to have a successful television career. She starred on the show Summerland, alongside Jesse McCartney and on CW’s 90210. In addition, Loughlin appeared in the TV movie, When the Heart Calls and the television show of the same name. Luckily for all the Full House viewers, Loughlin has confirmed that she will be back for the Full House spin off.
7. Candace Cameron Bure
Full House fans got to watch Candace Cameron Bure grow up from a little kid into a young woman when she played D.J Tanner (the eldest of the Tanner sisters) on the show. In addition to working on Full House, Bure also starred in a few made for TV movies and in an episode of Boy Meets World. After Full House ended, Bure was introduced to her future husband by none other than Dave Coulier. Bure wed her husband in 1996, the couple now have three children together. Bure has also continued to act. She starred on the show Make it or Break It and in a few movies on the Hallmark Channel. Fuller House will center around Bure after her husband passes away.
6. Scott Weinger
Scott Weinger played Steve Hale, D.J’s lovable boyfriend on Full House. In addition to making appearances on Full House, some fans might be surprised to learn that Weinger was the voice of Aladdin in the Disney film and in the animated TV series. After Full House ended, Weinger graduated from Harvard and moved from working in front of the camera to working behind it. Weinger is now a successful TV producer and writer. He has worked on shows like What I Like About You, Privileged and 90210. Unfortunately, it doesn’t look like Weinger will be appearing in Fuller House.
5. Blake and Dylan Tuomy Wilhoit
Blake and Dylan Tuomy-Wilhoit played Jesse and Rebecca’s adorable twin boys on Full House. Blake and Dylan were so young when they acted in Full House, that one of them doesn’t even remember being on set while the other claims that he can remember bits and pieces. Blake and Dylan are now 24 years old. The twins never acted again after their roles on Full House and now have full time jobs. Blake is a firefighter, while Dylan works on post sound for the popular show Game of Thrones. It’s not clear whether or not the boys will be appearing on the new spin-off, but we’re all hoping for the best.
4. Andrea Barber
Andrea Barber played D.J’s annoying but lovable best friend, Kimmy Gibbler. After Full House ended, Barber decided to take a step back from acting in order to focus on her personal life. She earned a degree in English from Whittier College and an MA in Women’s Studies from University of York, England. In 2002, Barber married Jeremy Rytky, the couple have two children together. Luckily for all the Full House fans out there, Barber has confirmed that she will be reprising her roles as Kimmy Gibler, alongside her real life BFF Candace Cameron Bure in Fuller House.
3. Jodie Sweetin
Jodie Sweetin became famous after playing Stephanie Tanner on Full House. She had everyone saying, “how rude” and made audiences everywhere fall in love with her as she grew up from a little kid into a young woman. After Full House ended, Sweetin dealt with some serious struggles in her personal life. She struggled with a crystal meth addiction for years and was married and divorced three times. The mother of two has now overcome her struggle with drugs and has chronicled it in her memoir, Unsweetined. The star will be reprising her role as Stephanie Tanner in Fuller House.
2. John Stamos
John Stamos played everyone’s favorite Uncle, Uncle Jesse on Full House. After Full House ended, Stamos went on to have a pretty successful acting career. He played Dr. Tony Gates on E.R, he appeared on Glee, and he starred in the musical Bye Bye Birdie on Broadway. In addition, the star is the face of Oikos greek yogurt. Stamos has always been talking about wanting to do a Full House reboot and it looks like he finally got his wish. The star will be returning as Uncle Jesse for a few episodes on the show. All we can say is, “Have Mercy.”
1. Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen
Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen shared the role of Michelle Tanner on Full House. After Full House, the twins went on to build their own media empire with movies such as, It Takes Two, Billboard Dad and When In Rome. The twin’s final feature film was New York Minute. The film marked Ashley’s last acting role to date, although Mary-Kate continues to act in movies and TV shows. Mary-Kate has had roles in The Wackness, Beastly and Weeds. The twins also have their own fashion line together. Mary-Kate and Ashley haven’t announced whether or not they’ll be making an appearance in Fuller House. In fact, the pair claimed that they hadn’t even heard about the reunion until it was announced to the world.
