Every year, there is a new crop of faces in Hollywood who are on the verge of taking their careers to the next level. A few examples of young actors who recently made an impact in the last year include Michael B. Jordan, Kate Mara and Miles Teller. For 2016, there are some really talented actors and actresses who are perfectly poised to really come into their own. A few of these names have already made huge inroads in the modeling world, and others happen to be the offspring of some of the most iconic names in movies. In the following feature, we have profiled 10 young up and comers who might just become household names next year.
10. Emily Ratajkowski
For most of you out there, you probably first became familiar with Emily Ratajkowski in the sexy video for Robin Thicke’s “Blurred Lines.” After that, she scored some pretty big magazine covers, and then she made a really big entrance into the world of Hollywood with a role as Ben Affleck’s “young and very hot” mistress in the hit Hollywood thriller, Gone Girl. Following that, she also appeared in the movie version of the cult television show, Entourage that came out earlier this summer. Of all the young actresses on this list, Ms. Ratajkowski is probably the sexiest one, and in Hollywood, that goes a very long way.
9. Scott Eastwood
This is once case where the following idiom applies perfectly: “The apple doesn’t fall from the tree.” Scott Eastwood is the son of the Hollywood icon, Clint Eastwood. When he first appeared on the acting scene, many wrote him off as just a pretty face. But since then, he has been turning in solid performances in films like Fury and The Longest Ride. Up next, you can expect to see him in the political drama Snowden with Joseph Gordon-Levitt. He will also be joining Cara Delevingne and Will Smith in the highly anticipated superhero movie Suicide Squad dropping next year.
8. Alicia Vikander
As far as young beautiful actresses go, it would be difficult to find someone with as much vivid potential as the lovely Swedish thespian, Alicia Vikander. She is 27-yrs-old and she caused quite a stir with her amazing portrayal of a sexy “artificial intelligence” robot in this year’s breakout sci-fi flick Ex Machina. She also turned in a solid performance in the action spy movie The Man From U.N.C.L.E. with costars Henry Cavill and Armie Hammer. Next up, we can expect to see her in the reboot of the Bourne movies with Matt Damon, and to add to her growing fame, she is currently dating bona fide Hollywood leading man, Michael Fassbender.
7. Tony Revolori
These days, most of the youngest actors on the scene seem to be all sheen and no substance. However, the 19-yr-old California native Tony Revolori is one youngster that has some real acting chops. In 2014, he was one of the breakthrough stars in the award-winning Wes Anderson movie The Grand Budapest Motel. He followed that stellar appearance with another praiseworthy performance in the high school drama Dope. Next up, you can expect to see him in the 2016 apocalyptic epic The 5th Wave with Chloe Moretz and Liev Schreiber. Tony Revolori is of Guatemalan descent so he is also adding to the diversity of young Hollywood.
6. Claudia Kim
It’s not very often that we find actresses from Korea that actually make it in Hollywood, but Claudia Kim is certainly an exception to that rule. In the last 3 years, she has starred in some pretty high profile projects. She had a major role in the Netflix series Marco Polo and she really took off in 2015 with a role in the 2015 Hollywood superhero blockbuster, Avengers: Age of Ultron. The world of movies is getting more and more diverse and Claudia Kim seems poised to one of the top new actresses on the scene in the near future.
5. Taron Egerton
At any given time, there is no shortage of talented actors and actresses from the UK crossing the pond and making it big in Hollywood. One of the young studs that’s sure to create some waves in 2016 is the 25-yr-old Taron Egerton. He exploded on the scene in 2014 with the action movie Kingsman: The Secret Service alongside seasoned talent like Samuel L. Jackson and Colin Firth. This November, he’ll be starring with Tom Hardy in the British gangster flick, Legend. He will follow that in 2016 by starring in the film Eddie The Eagle about a popular British ski jumper. It looks like he’s really being patient about cherry-picking his roles and that kind of discerning poise goes a very long way in Hollywood.
4. Cara Delevingne
She’s only 23-yrs-old but the young UK model Cara Delevingne is already one of the most talked about individuals on the social media scene. She has walked runways for some of the biggest luxury brands in the fashion industry and she also kept the paparazzi interested by having a hot fling with Hollywood actress Michelle Rodriguez. But now she is turning her attention to movies and is making quite a splash. She stunned critics with her strong debut in the young adult movie, Paper Towns that came out earlier this year. Up next, she will be appearing in the upcoming Warner Brothers superhero movie, Suicide Squad coming out next year. Be prepared to see a lot more of her in the coming years
3. John Boyega
John Boyega is a young British actor who is destined to have a truly blockbuster year in 2016. It’s been said before that becoming famous and having a successful Hollywood career requires talent and a lot of luck. The stars have to align in just the right way and it seems that they have for Mr. Boyega. The 23-yr-old actor was plucked from relative obscurity and given one of the major roles in the highly anticipated Star Wars reboot being handled by the brilliant producer and director JJ. Abrams. Star Wars:The Force Awakens is being tipped to be a breakout hit, and there are two more installments to follow in this new trilogy. This is probably going to be the springboard that John Boyega needs to propel him to Hollywood stardom.
2. Sophie Turner
If you are fan of the amazing HBO fantasy series Game of Thrones, then you are already familiar with this next actress, Sophie Turner. She hails from the United Kingdom, and for the last five years, she has played the character of Sansa Stark in Game Of Thrones, which has been referred to as one of the greatest television shows ever created. However she is only 19-yrs-old and there is a lot more going on with her as well. For 2016, she is going to appear in X-Men Apocalypse as a young Jean Grey and she has also been cast to play the lead in Mary Shelly’s Monster. For those who don’t know, Mary Shelly was the 19th Century UK writer who authored Frankenstein. Sophie has already enjoyed a lot of success but there is definitely much more coming her way.
1. Ezra Miller
He’s only 23-yrs-old, but you better watch out for the shining talent and captivating screen presence of actor Ezra Miller. In a short period of time, he has acted in a handful of movies and delivered some truly riveting performances. One of those roles was in the coming of age drama, The Perks of Being A Wall Flower in which he starred along Emmy Watson. Just this year, he also turned in a noteworthy role in Amy Schumer’s funny R-rated comedy, Trainwreck. Next up, he’ll be starring in Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them, based on a JK Rowling novel. Warner Brothers has already announced that he has been given the lead role for the DC Comics character The Flash which will be released in 2018.
