Marriages in Hollywood are often plagued by a negative notion due to the short duration of matrimony of many Hollywood couples, which ends rather quickly in separation or divorce. He is an actor, musician, author, film director, and spokesperson who is also known for his role as a veteran police sergeant in the 1980’s TV series T.J. Hooker. Shatner’s first marriage was to Gloria Rand whom he married in 1956 and divorced in 1969. He got married in 1973 to the daughter of producer Perry Lafferty, Marcy Lafferty. The couple divorced in 1996. In 1997, he was married to Nerine Kidd-Shatner until her death in 1999 due to an accident in their home.
