One of the golden rules about being in a successful relationship is this: “Don’t Kiss And Tell.” But what happens when the relationship is over? Is it okay to spill the beans and talk about all the nasty things that happened during the timeline of the relationship? Well, most will agree that the gentlemanly or ladylike thing to do is keep those secrets hidden and let sleeping dogs lie. But alas, that’s hardly ever the case with celebs. There’s always some high profile magazine interview or tell-all book that manages to dish out all the dirty secrets. And now that we have instant outlets like Twitter and Instagram, it’s become so much easier to spread the negativity. In the following article, we talk about 10 celeb relationships in which one of the partners has gone on to say some “not so nice” things about their former lovers. Read on below …
10. Kanye West and Amber Rose
When it comes to celebrities who don’t know how to put a muzzle on their mouths, the lead personality in that category would have to be Kanye West. In the world of Kanye, he’s the all-knowing King of the Empire and no one else matters. The same applies for his exes too. In a recent visit to The Breakfast Club radio show, he didn’t hold anything back when talking about his former flame Amber Rose. This is what he said: “If Kim had dated me when I wanted, there would be no Amber Rose.” He continued to say, “It’s very hard for a woman to want to be with someone that’s with Amber Rose. I had to take 30 showers before I got with Kim.” Ouch, that hurts.
9. Chris Brown and Karrueche Tran
We all know about the constant on-and-off relationship between Karrueche and Chris Brown. Since the news came out recently that Chris Brown had a secret child with one of Karrueche’s friends, it seems like the split might finally be permanent now. However when they had one of their intermittent splits in 2014, Brown ripped into her hard on social media. This is what he said: “We’ve got scars, some of them you gave me, some of them I’ve caused. That ride or die act we have been fooling the world with obviously ain’t working. I was locked up for damn near 4 months and only got 1 visit from you while u was hosting parties and taking secret trips to Toronto, going on dates with Drake! When this relationship first started, you knew what it was and even participated in threesomes …” It even goes further than that. Wow, talk about airing dirty laundry.
8. Rita Ora and Rob Kardashian
Out of all the members of the Kardashian Klan, it seems that brother Rob is having the hardest time with dealing with the fame and the constant media scrutiny that his family is constantly subjected to. He dated British pop starlet Rita Ora in 2012 and that ended up in a less than amicable way with him publicly venting about the relationship on social media. For her part, Rita Ora also made sure to get some really hurtful jabs in. This is what she had to say on Twitter that was quickly deleted: “Rob’s d*** was wack, I had to get it somewhere else.”
7. Russell Brand and Katy Perry
When the world first heard news that these two were getting married, most pundits thought that there was no way it was going to last. Brand himself is an admitted recovering sex addict and Perry is one of the current top pop artists always touring the globe. The marriage lasted for two years, and after it ended, Brand made a comment that wasn’t very flattering to his former wife. “When you’re a monk, you’re not allowed to have sex with anyone. When you’re married, it’s one person. That’s one more than a monk. I’d be having sex thinking, ‘Think of anyone, anyone else.’”
6. Olivia Wilde and Tao Ruspoli
Olivia Wilde is definitely one of the hottest actresses in Hollywood right now. She’s currently engaged to movie funnyman Jason Sudeikis and the two of them have a son together. But between 2003 and 2011, she was married to a photographer/filmmaker named Tao Ruspoli. The marriage ended in a divorce and at an event in NYC in 2012, Wilde reportedly made the following statement about her sex life with her former husband. “I felt like my vagina died. It just turned off. Lights out.”No matter how bad a marriage, shouldn’t people refrain from making comments like that?
5. Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck
JLo and Ben Affleck are two of the biggest (and richest) stars around right now. In the last few years, Affleck has established himself as both a bankable actor and a gifted director. He’s also slated to be the next Batman and that will only take his Hollywood clout even higher. Between 2002 and 2004, J-Lo and Affleck dated and during that time, he made some of the worst movies of his career, Jersey Girl and Gigli. They actually got engaged but ended up calling it off. Apparently, the media attention was just too much for him to take. In 2006, after the relationship ended, he told a British magazine that during the relationship, he felt “suffocated, miserable and gross.”
4. Wiz Khalifa and Amber Rose
This is another Hip-Hop union that started off with vim and all kinds of promise – then it quickly fizzled into nothing. The weed-smoking, platinum rapper Wiz Khalifa married former stripper Amber Rose in 2013, and they even share a child together. But apparently, there were major cases of infidelity with Wiz and the union ended in late 2014. In a song entitled “For Everybody” by rapper Juicy J, Khalifa unleashed a verse that took several direct shots at her. Here are just some of the venomous lines:
“Man I fell in love with a stripper, funny thing is I fell back out of love quicker / Bottles be turning these girls into thots, Instagram turning these wives into hos / You all ‘bout that money, that s*** that I throw. Just make sure you clean off that pole.” That’s certainly no way to be talking to the mother of your child. Do you agree?
3. Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston
One of the biggest stories in Hollywood of relationships and breakups belongs to mega-stars Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston. Brad met Jennifer in 1998 and they got married in 2000 and stayed together till 2005, when they eventually separated and divorced. Immediately following that, he hooked up with the sultry Angelina Jolie and the rest is pretty much history. However in 2011, in an interview with Parade magazine, this is what Brad said about his time with Aniston: “I wasn’t living an interesting life.” He also said that he was “trying to pretend the marriage was something it wasn’t.”
2. Marc Anthony and Jennifer Lopez
We’ve already talked about Jennifer Lopez once in this piece, but we figured we’ll give you another scoop. After her engagement ended with Ben Affleck in 2004, she ended up getting married to Latin music sensation Marc Anthony. They stayed together till 2011, had twin babies together, but Anthony filed for divorce in 2012. When the relationship was over, this is what J-Lo told Vanity Fair magazine, “To understand that a person is not good for you, or that a person is not treating you in the right way – if I stay, then I am not doing the right thing for me.” We wonder how he was treating for her to make these comments.
1. Usher Raymond and Tameka Foster
Usher Raymond is definitely one of the top “ladies men” in music. The top-selling R&B/pop star has had an extremely successful career and he continues to drop hits every year. He’s 36 now but he got married at the age of 28 to an older woman (who was also his stylist) named Tameka Foster. The marriage lasted from 2007-09, and they had two kids together. Last year, when he was asked by O magazine about his marriage, this is how he chose to categorize it. He said that “getting married at 28 was one of his best mistakes,” and he also reflected that the ending of the marriage was something very beneficial. Imagine how his “ex” felt when she read those piercing words.
