When you’re a female Hollywood starlet who has it all: beauty, fame and fortune, dating younger men—whether by the single or double digits—is not uncommon. Most celebrities prefer to date other stars, so their partner can better acclimate to their lifestyles.
It does come at a price though, as the dating preferences of these celebrities are scrutinized not only by friends and family, but also by fans and the media. But to them, age is just a number. What matters most is the soul and personality of the person they’re dating. Most celebs who date men/women much younger than them will usually state that they are most interested in their partner’s soul and that age doesn’t matter.
Without further ado, here are 10 very sexy female celebrities in Hollywood who are notorious for putting the C in Cougar.
10. Jennifer Lopez
As one of Hollywood’s most young-looking 45-year-old, Jennifer Lopez can definitely pull off dating younger men. And that she has. After her marriage to Marc Anthony, she entered into a 2 and a half-year relationship with her choreographer and dancer, Casper Smart who is almost 20 years younger than her. As of recently, reports have been circulating that the pair are on again.
While promoting her most recent film, “Boy Next Door,” she visited the Ellen DeGeneres Show and talked about the term, “cougar,” saying that, “I’m not after younger guys. If younger guys like me then that’s one thing. But there’s, like, guys who just go after younger women.”
9. Demi Moore
Since her divorce to Bruce Willis, who was eight years older than her, Demi Moore began searching for a new breed of men: younger ones. According to the Daily Mail Online, the ages of these men include 34, 32, 30, 28, 27 and 26.
One of her most famous younger beaus was actor and prankster, Ashton Kutcher, with whom she began dating when she was 41 and he was 25. In an interview with Harper’s Bazaar, she told the magazine that Ashton was her “gift” and “soulmate.”
The pair were dating for over two years before they got married in a super secret wedding ceremony in 2005 that included close friends, family and even Demi’s ex-husband, Bruce Willis.
Cracks, however, began to show in their 8-year relationship after rumors of Ashton’s infidelity hit the media. He had spent a boys’ weekend in San Diego and a photograph of him in a car with a blonde caused speculation. Despite denying the claims, the end for them came in November 2011 when they separated, but it wasn’t until a year later in 2012 when Ashton filed for divorce.
Ashton is now married to “That ‘70s Show” co-star, Mila Kunis. They have a daughter, Wyatt, together, and Demi is currently dating her 28-year-old boyfriend, Sean Friday.
Following suit of Demi Moore, the singer Madonna, too, began dating younger men following divorce. In 2008, she split with her second husband, Guy Richie.
In an interview with the New York Daily News, Madonna admitted that her tendency to date younger men is “just what happens.” She went on to say, “Most men my age are married with children. They’re not dateable. I’m a very adventurous person and I also have a crazy life.”
She moves on quick, too. After splitting with her 25-year-old lover, Brahim Zaibat, she began dating her backup dancer, 26-year-old, Timor Steffens. But none of these ages compare to the relationship she had with 21-year-old, Jesus Luz.
7. Mariah Carey
From older to younger.
In her first marriage, Mariah Carey wed Record Executive, Tommy Mottola, who was 11 years older than her. Their marriage was controversial as he was said to be “controlling” and “obsessive.”
Her second and most recent marriage was to America’s Got Talent host, Nick Cannon. He’s 10 years her junior, and the two share twin girls, Moroccan and Monroe. Sadly, Nick filed for divorce in December 2014, but the two parents put their issues aside for their children and were all smiles during the Easter holiday and more recently, for Mother’s Day.
6. Julianne Moore
The Oscar winner met her now-husband, Bart Freundlich, when she was 35 and he was 26—putting almost a ten-year gap between the two. They were on set of the movie, “The Myth of Fingerprints” in 1996. They had their first son, Caleb, followed by their daughter Liv, who was born in 2002.
The pair tied the knot in 2003, which Moore told The Guardian, “the only reason I got married in 2003 was for my children.”
They’ve kept the love strong and are now going on being married over 10 years.
5. Sharon Stone
She said that she gets pursued by men in their twenties a lot, and it shows. Although the actress is currently dating 43-year-old David DeLuise whose only 13 years her junior, her past beaus have been a lot younger.
Stone also dated an Argentinian model, 27-year-old Martin Mica and Chase Dreyfus who had a 26-year age difference to Sharon, to name a few. With her looks, how can any man resist?
4. Robin Wright
The House of Cards star may have been married to Sean Penn for close to 14 years, but she has moved on to a younger man… 14 years, that is. Robin met her fiancé, X-Men star, Ben Foster, on the set of “Rampart”. Despite the 14-year age gap, they hit it off immediately and got engaged in January 2014.
When asked about the relationship, Robin said, “Ben and I have a connection between us that just feels right. I don’t have any other word for it.”
However, less than a year after their January 2014 engagement, the pair split and the age difference was partially to blame. A source told Us Magazine, “The gap just ended up being too much. Ben was kind of immature. She couldn’t deal with him anymore.”
This split ended up being short-term as well as they were back together and all smiles together at the 2015 Golden Globes.
3. Cameron Diaz
For a star that looks so young for her age, she can clearly get any man she wants. And that just so happens to be the likes of young, famous male celebs.
In 2003, she dated Justin Timberlake, who was nine years younger than her. The relationship lasted three years, and she made it clear that age wasn’t a reason for the split. “It’s not like this is the first time in the history of human relationships that people were drawn to one another because of who they are, not what age they are.”
Earlier in 2014, she began dating and soon became married to Good Charlotte star, Benji Madden. Despite their 7-year age difference, the couple released a statement to PEOPLE following their nuptials. “We couldn’t be happier to begin our new journey together surrounded by our closest family and friends.”
2. Courteney Cox
She may have starred in a show called Cougar Town, but that isn’t too far of a stretch of Courteney Cox’s real-life dating history.
Back during her Friends days and beyond, she was married to David Arquette who is seven years younger. They are no longer together, but they share a daughter, Coco.
Currently, she is engaged to Johnny McDaid who popped the question just six months after dating. She’s 50 and he’s 38, but she told People magazine that she knew that he was one by “just who he is, that he was just a beautiful, sensitive, loving person with a wonderful family, with a beautiful set of friends. Then I was like, ‘This is for real!’”
1. Susan Sarandon
She may be an unlikely cougar, but the 68-year-old actress was in a relationship with 37-year old screenwriter, Jonathan Bricklin, who is 31 years her junior.
When asked about the relationship, she said, “it’s the soul of a person that interests me.”
The pair broke up earlier this year in March, with the age gap possibly playing a role. In an interview with Page Six, Bricklin said that he hates the label “boy toy,” and that her friends and family didn’t feel like he was good enough for her.
Sarandon is currently single, 68, and starting fresh in her dating life.
