Richard Fitzalan was an English nobleman and military leader who had an inflation-adjusted estimated net worth of $118.6 billion.

Fitzalan's father was executed on November 17, 1326, and Fitzlana didn't succeed his father's estates at that time.

In 1330, when the political condition at that time changed, Fitzalan was able to reacquire the Earldom of Arundel, as well as the great estates his father had held in Sussex and in the Welsh Marches.

He became Justiciar of North Wales, High Sheriff of Caernarvonshire for life, and Governor of Caernarfon Castle in 1334. He was one of the most trusted supporters of Edward the Black Prince in Wales.

In 1337, he was the joint commander of the English army in the north, and the next year he was made the sole commander.

In 1340, he fought at the Battle of Sluys, and then at the siege of Tournai. He was appointed Joint Lieutenant of Aquitaine in 1340.

He had very large loans owed to King Edward III, but still retained a great sum after his death.

Richard FitzAlan, 10th Earl of Arundel and 8th Earl of Surrey, was born on 1306. He married twice and has several children from both marriage.  He died on January 24, 1376 in Sussex, England.
