Former Turks and Caicos President Michael Misick has an estimated net worth of $180 million. Born Michael Eugene Misick on February 2, 1966 in Bottle Creek, North Caicos, he earned his certificate in Business Studies from the Miami Lakes Technical Institute and his Bachelor of Law (LLB, Hons.) at the University of Buckingham. He is a Barrister at Law of England and Wales, an Attorney at Law of Turks and Caicos Island, and a member of the Honourable Society of Lincoln’s Inn.

Before he entered politics, Misick has worked in the private sector. From 1984 to 1986, he was the sales manager for Prestigious Properties Ltd. He served as the managing director from 1986 to 1988. In between 1988 and 1991, he was the chairman and CEO of the property and financial services company, Paramount Group of Companies.

Misick’s political career began when he was first elected to the Legislative Council in 1991 and became the Minister of Tourism, Transportation and Communications. He became the Chief Minister of Turks and Caicos in 2003. He married actress LisaRay McCoy in 2006 and he became widely recognized. He was accused of sexually assaulting a tourist in 2008 and his government was also investigated for signs of corruption by the Foreign Affairs Select Committee of British Members of the Parliament. He resigned on March 23, 2009, a week earlier than expected, after an investigation found out that there were clear signs of corruptions in Turks and Caicos despite his denial. He was arrested on December 27, 2012 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil after he fled from Turks and Caicos amid the allegations that he stole $180 million from the island that he used to control.
