He served as the Co-Chief Operation Officer and Vica Chairman of the firm from 1987 to 1990. He was the firm’s Co-Senior Partner and Co-Chairman from 1990 to 1992. He spent 26 years serving the firm before working for the U.S. Government where he is a well-known democrat.

Rubin is married to Judith Leah Oxenberg Rubin. They have two children named James and Phillip.
