American businessman and widower Wilma Tische has an estimated net worth of $1.5 billion as of March 2013 according to Forbes.

Together with her sister-in-law Joan Tisch, they both control the family business which was founded by their deceased husbands, Laurence and Preston Tisch. It was the company which started as a small hotel in New Jersey in 1946 which later acquired Loews Theatre thirteen years later.

Today, Loews Corp. include Boardwalk, Diamond Offshore, and CNA insurance. While Joan's son Jonathan currently serves as the head of Loews Hotels, Wilma's son Andrew is currently serving as the co-chairman of Jonathan.

In addition to being a businesswoman, Wilma Tisch and the rest of the family is known to donate huge offerings to various organizations which include the Tisch Hospital at Langone Medical Center, the Tisch School of the Arts,  the 92nd Street Y, the UJA-Federation, Gay Men's Health Crisis, as well as the Tisch Children's Zoo in Central Park.
