American businesswoman Martha Ingram has an estimated net worth of $4.1 billion as of December 2015 according to Forbes. She is known to be the current Chairman of Ingram Industries.

Martha Robinson Rivers Ingram was born on August 20, 1935 in Charleston, South Carolina. She is an alumna of Vassar College. After graduation, she landed a job at the WCSC-AM/FM radio station and WCSC-TV station. In 1958, she married E. Bronson Ingram (now deceased). While her husband was busy with the family's business, Martha devoted her time in raising their four children. 

In 1979, she was encouraged by her husband to join the family business as Director of Public Affairs. When her husband passed away in 1995, she immediately became the chairman of the board. Today, Ingram Industries is comprised of Ingram Marine Group, Ingram Book Group, and Ingram Insurance Group. On the other hand, Ingram Entertainment, which sold video games and home videos, was purchased by Martha Ingram's son, David. One of her sons, John, serves as the Chairman while Orrin is the chief executive officer and president of the group. Her only daughter, Robin, is a member of the Ingram board of directors.
