Born and raised in Arizona, Cindy McCain is the heiress of the famous Jim Hensley, a very wealthy Anheuser-Busch beer distributor in the US. McCain is a graduate of education at University of Southern California where she also completed her master's degree. After becoming a special teacher, she married John McCain and they were blessed with three children together. She then founded the American Voluntary Medical Team, a non profit organization which aims to organize the trips of medical professionals to war-torn or disaster stricken third world countries.

When her father died in 2000, majority of the shares in Hensley & Co. was given to her and  she became the Chairman of the Board. Through time, Cindy McCain continues to be active in her philanthropic projects and she is currently part of the board of many companies in the U.S. like HALO Trust, CARE and Operation Smile.

Her husband John McCain was previously married to Carol McCain for 14 years. When the couple divorce in April 1980, John married Cindy a month later, with a prenuptial agreement signed beforehand. The couple have three children together named Mehgan, Jack and Jimmy. Their fourth child named Bridget was adopted. Cindy McCain is known to be of full support to her husband's political dreams. In fact, she has used her father's business and political contacts to help her husband made it into the Arizona politics.
