Peretti was born on January 1, 1974 to an Italian-American father and a Jewish mother. He is a graduate of MIT Media Lab where he is popular for his experiments with “contagious” or “viral” media such as the parody website BlackPeopleLoveUs.com and the “Nike Sweatshop Emails”.
