His professional career began at Wang Laboratories in Lowell, Massachusetts.

In 1994, his early new media company, Redgate Communications, was acquired by America Online and he became a senior AOL executive for the next 13 years. Ted Leonsis is the founder, chairman, majority owner and Chief Executive Officer of Monumental Sports & Entertainment.
