Vincent Bollore was born on April 1, 1952 in Boulogne-Billancourt, France. He is currently married and has four children. After attending Lycée Janson de Sailly, he attended the Université Paris X Nanterre where he completed his Master of Laws degree. Eventually, he started his career at Edmond de Rothschild as an investment bank trainee.

Towards the end of 2004, Bollore investment group started creating stakes in advertising group Havas, wherein it became the largest single shareholder later on. In July 2005, he took over Alain de Pouzilhac as the company's chief executive officer.
