US-based media executive Shawn Colo is the co-founder of Demand Media, Inc. and he has an estimated net worth of $100 million. It is a content and social media company that operates online brands such as eHow and Cracked which he founded together with Richard Rosenblatt in 2006.

Mr. Colo is a graduate of Princeton University with a B.S.E. degree in Civil Engineering and Operations Research. He then worked as a principal with Spectrum Equity Investors, a $4 billion media and communications focused private equity firm between 1997 and 2006. He was responsible for sourcing and analysing media and technology investment opportunities in the United States and Europe.

Currently, Shawn Colo is the Executive Vice President, Corporate Development, where he is responsible in the mergers and acquisitions as well as strategic corporate partnerships. Since it was founded in 2006, he has led more than 30 acquisitions of websites and technology companies aside from completing more than $40 million worth of equity and debt financings for Demand Media. He also serves on the board of KCRW, a National Public Radio affiliate based in Santa Monica, California. The radio affiliate is a recognized tastemaker of new music from around the world.
