Sevket Sabanci is a Turkish businessman and philanthropist with an estimated net worth of $1.08 billion as of May 2016 according to Forbes. He is a second generation member of the renowned Sabanci family and one of the five brothers who built the Sabanci Holding. He is currently the 22nd richest person in Turkey and is ranked 1107th in the list of World Billionaires.

Mr. Sabanci began his professional career after he graduated from the University of Manchester Institute of Science and Technology with a degree in textile engineering. He has worked at managerial positions in several textile companies owned by his family.

Sabanci may still have shares in the family holding but he chose to build his own business. In 2002, he started Esas Holding, one of the largest Turkish conglomerates, along with his daughter Emine Sabanci Kamisli and his son Ali Sabanci. The firm has investments in food, entertainment, health, and aviation as well as in real estate industry. Ali also manages Pegasus airlines which recently ordered 100 planes from Airbus for $12 billion.

Born in 1936 in Akçakaya Village, Kayseri Province, Sevket is also one of the founding members of the Sabanci Foundation VakSA.
