Samuel Truett Cathy is an American businessman and founder of Chick-fil-A, a quick service restaurant chain based in suburban Atlanta, Georgia, USA. He has a net worth of $4.2 billion. The Chick-Fil-A founder remains chairman of the company, which is the second largest fast-food chicken chain in the U.S after KFC.

Chick-Fil-A remains a family business; Cathy's oldest son Dan has been president since 2001, youngest son Don ("Bubba") is a senior executive and several grandchildren are now franchise owners. The chain operates over 1,500 stores in 39 states. Among its most popular items are chicken sandwiches and waffle fries. A devout Baptist, Cathy keeps his stores closed on Sundays. Cathy was born in Eatonton, Georgia in 1921.
