New Zealand-born businessman and investor, Richard Chandler, has a net worth of $2.3 billion as of December 2015 according to Forbes. The Singapore resident cofounded investment firm Sovereign Global with brother Christopher Chandler. After they split, he started investment group in Singapore, now called Richard Chandler Corp., focused on emerging markets. He recently increased stake in Chinese plantation firm Sino-Forest Corp., shares of which had plunged on reports that it had overstated timber holdings. His Razi Healthcare, started in 2009, runs low-cost urban clinics. Richard Chandler has launched a US$100 million education initiative in the developing world with the focus to build low-cost private education opportunities in India.
