American businessman Peter Holt has an estimated net worth of $200 million. He was born Peter M. Holt on July 26, 1948 in Peoria, Illinois and lived as a child in San Antonio before moving to Corpus Christi, where he earned his high school education. He then went to serve in the United States Army for two years. He also spent a one-year tour of duty as an infantryman in Vietnam. He ended his service with a Silver Star, a Purple Heart and three Bronze Medals for Valor.

Upon his return to California, Holt worked for an investment banking house and started a bar and restaurant business. He then joined his father in the Holt Companies in Corpus Christi in 1983. He went to serve as the president and CEO. In September 1987, he and his father bought Holt Machinery Co. in San Antonio, then reunited the original Caterpillar dealership which was started in 1993 by Bill Holt. He helped expand the company when he purchased Darr Equipment Company of Dallas, the Caterpillar dealer for the DFW Metroplex.

In 1993, Peter Holt purchased the San Antonio Spurs for $76 million and became responsible in helping the growth of the team’s popularity within the community through the support and financial backing for a new arena and training facility. Under his ownership, the team won four NBA Championships – 1999, 2003, 2005 and 2007 and is now worth more than $500 million. He has also purchased other sports teams including the Austin Toros, the San Antonio Rampage and the San Antonio Silver Stars.
