Prominent philanthropist, heir and Hong Kong-based businessman Lee Bass has an estimated net worth of $1.8 billion as of April 2016 according to Forbes.

Together with his three brothers, Lee Bass inherited the family fortune which was founded by their uncle Sid Richardson.

Lee Bass is a 1979 graduate of Yale University. He then attended Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania  where he completed his Master of Business Administration degree in 1982. Less Bass is currently married to Ramona Seeligson with whom he has three children named Ramony, Perry and Sophie.

After graduation, he served a six-year term at the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department under the administration of Governor William P. Clements, Jr. After his term, he was appointed as the Chairman by Governor George W. Bush and he received another re-appointment for six years.

As a philanthropist, Lee is currently on the board of Vanderbilt University, Sid W. Richardson Foundation, and The Peregrine Fund. He is International Rhino Foundation's founding director as well as Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth's Chairman Emeritus of the Board. He is also a known republican that has supported the campaign of various politicians including George Allen, George W. Bush, John McCain, Kay Bailey Hutchison and Phil Gramm.
