American businessman John Abele is the co-founder of Boston Scientific who has an estimated net worth of $3.3 billion. As one of the richest people in Massachusetts, he has been the director of the medical device company since 1979. Mr. Abele was the Treasurer from 1979 to 1992, the Co-Chairman from 1979 to 1995, and the Vice Chairman and Founder, Office of the Chairman from February 1995 to March 1996.

Mr. Abele is also the owner of The Kingbridge Center and Institute, a 120-room conference center in Ontario. The center provides special services and research to business, academia and government. From 1970 to 1983, he served as the President of Medi-tech. He used to serve in the sales, technical and general management positions for Advanced Instruments, Inc.
