A self-made billionaire, Husnu Ozyegin is a Turkish businessman with an estimated net worth of $2.7 billion as of April 2016 according to Forbes.

Born in 1944, Husnu Ozyegin is a graduate of Robert College in Istanbul Turkey. With a few thousand dollars in his pocket, he went to Oregon State University to study civil engineering. After completing his bachelor's degree, he went to Harvard Business School where he obtained his MBA.

When he returned to his home country in 1977, he was appointed as the general manager  of Pamukbank. He held the position until 1984. Shortly after, he was hired by Yapı ve Kredi Bankası as the general manager, a position he sustained until 1987. At age 43, he founded Finansbank. Through the years, the bank has expanded significantly, operating in nine countries outside of Turkey, most of which are in Europe. The bank also operated in 200 branches. Later on, he founded several finance companies and managed them together through Holding Fiba.

In 1996, he joined the retail industry and acquired several supermarket chains such as Greens, Spar, Endi, and Gima. He also has investments in shopping centers, energy, retail, real estate as well as condominium building and development. He also has franchising contracts with Marks & Spencer and has acquired Sakura Bank.
