Apart from being the previous owner of the Seattle SuperSonic team and co-founder of Maveron investment group, Howard Mark Schultz is best recognized as the Chief Executive Officer of world-renowned Starbucks.

Coming from a poor family, Schultz is the first member of his family to go to college. Right after graduation, he begun working for the Xerox Corporation as a sales person. Not long after, he was hired as the General Manager of Hammarplast, a Swedish drip coffee company. Later on, Schultz put up his own coffee shop and he named it "Il Giornale". Two years after, he acquired the original Starbucks for only $3.8 million. He renamed Il Giornale to Starbucks. The company expanded aggressively across the United States.

Apart from being a businessman, Schultz is also a writer. Among his published books include Onward: How Starbucks Fought for Its Life Without Losing Its Soul  which he wrote with Joanne Gordon, and the other book is titled Pour Your Heart Into It: How Starbucks Built a Company One Cup at a Time which he co-wrote with Dori Jones Yang.

Howard Schultz has an estimated net worth of $3 billion as of November 2016 according to Forbes.
