Frits Goldschmeding is known to be the founder of the employment agency, Randstad Holding, which is now based in the Netherlands. The company was founded as Uitzendbureau Amstelveen in 1960. Four years later, the company's name was changed into Randstad Holding. Eventually, he decided to expand his operations outside of the Netherlands. His company began building branches in three other countries such as Belgium, United Kingdom and Germany.

After going public in 2000, the company merged with Vedior in 2008 which led to the creation of the second largest temp agency in the world. Though he is now retired, Goldschmeding still owns 35% of the company's stakes.
