Together with his brother, Alexei Ananyev, Dmitry Anayev started his professional career by importing computers to Russia. Eventually, they founded a bank and subsequently, they became actively involved in media and real estate. Together, the Ananyev brothers own the Novospassky Dvor and Alfa Arbat Center which is an office complex based in Central Russia. They bought the property for $23o million. It was in 2010 when the brothers sold Synterra, their telecom company to Megafon for $745 million.
