Dan Wilks is the co-founder and co-owner of Wilks Masonry, Inc. and he has an estimated net worth of $1.3 billion as of May 2016 according to Forbes. He is the 328th richest person in the “Forbes 400” list and he was ranked 1031st in the list of World Billionaires.

In early 1995, Dan accepted the position of Vice President and estimator in the firm. He also rejoined his brother, Farris, who had been working as the ace foreman and Field Superintendent at Central Masonry for 12 years. They followed the footsteps of their father, Voy Wilks, and became masons also.

While at the firm, Dan Wilks estimated, bid, and contracted new projects. He also negotiated with suppliers and general contractors while he oversaw the daily financial and operations. In 2002, the Wilks brothers founded Frac Tech when they branched out into the hydraulic fracturing and oil field service industry. They sold their nearly 70% combined interest at Frac Tech (now FTS International Services, LLC) for $3.5 billion to a partnership lead by Temasek Holdings of Singapore in May 2011. Recently, they purchased the 66,000 acre N Bar Ranch in Montana from fellow billionaire Tom Siebel. Also, they are building an airport in Cisco.

Aside from the partnership with his brother, Wilks also held various positions in different companies. He is also the co-founder and co-owner of the Interstate Explorations LLC and Cisco Supply, Ltd. He has served as the Chief Executive Officer and Director of FTS International Services, LLC.
