American businessman Clay Bennett has an estimated net worth of $400 million. Born Clayton Ike Bennett in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, he became one of the principal owners of the San Antonio Spurs. He has worked with Oklahoma-based businessmen to reach a deal for the relocation of the New Orleans Hornets after Hurricane Katrina. The team moved to Oklahoma City for the next two years.

Bennett also served as the chairman of Professional Basketball Club, LLC (PBC) based in Oklahoma that owns the Oklahoma City Thunder in the National Basketball League (NBA). PBC is the owner of the Seattle Supersonics and Seattle Storm professional basketball teams. In 2006, Sonics was purchased from Howard Schultz, the CEO of Starbucks, for $350 million. It was later renamed Thunder after all rights including the name, logo or colors were relinquished.

Clay Bennett was named the chairman of the relocation committee of the NBA.
