Kazakhstani businessman Bulat Utemuratov has an estimated net worth of $2.4 billion as of April 2016 according to Forbes. Utemuratov acquired most of his net worth from his various investments in hotels, mining and banking.

Until today, Bulat Utemuratov continues to sell off many of his assets. In fact, in October 2012, he made a transaction with Glencore to buy out the stakes of his firm at Kazzinc which is considered as the largest zinc miner in Kazakhstan. Four months later, he sold his remaining stakes to the government for only $2.1 billion.

Currently, he is on the move to restore his banking assets. He is currently renegotiating the repurchase of ATF Bank in Kazakhstan. In 2007, he sold 91.8% of his stakes to the Italian bank UniCredit for only $2.1 billion.
