William Hunt Gross was born on April 13, 1944  in Middletown, Ohio. He attended Duke University where he finished his degree in Psychology. He then studied at the University of California Los Angeles, Anderson School of Management where he earned his MBA. William Gross is currently married to Sue J. Gross with whom he has one child. Gross has two other children from previous relationships. He is known to be an avid stamp collector and active philanthropist. In fact, Gross and his wife founded William and Sue Gross Family Foundation which donates staggering amount of funds to Doctors Without Borders and the Smithsonian's National Postal Museum and Columbia University.
