Initially, he served as the Vice President of NASCAR for six years until his father’s retirement in January 1972. He succeeded his father as the head of NASCAR in the same year. He served the position until 2000. Today, Brian France, Bill Jr’s son serves as NASCAR CEO, a position he has been serving since 2003.
