Alijan Ibragimov is a Kyrgyzstan-born Uigur oligarch and he has an estimated net worth of $1.83 billion as of April 2016 according to Forbes. He was previously listed as the third richest person in Kazakhstan and is ranked 704th in the list of World Billionaires.

Also known as Alidjan or Alidzhon Ibragimov, he has accumulated his estimated net worth of $2.1 billion when he and his longtime friends and partners, Alexander Mashkevich and Patokh Chodiev, built Eurasian Natural Resources Co. (ENRC). The three are known as the “Trio” and they have created a metals and mining empire in Kazakhstan, one of the world’s leading natural resources groups. He is one major shareholder of the firm that is headquartered in London. It now operates a high number of metal assets in Kazakhstan and Africa as well as numerous mining operations in Eastern Europe and Asia.

The company continues to expand in the sale of international assets. It has managed to acquire 50.5% of Camrose Resources Limited and 50% interest in Bahia Minerals BV in 2010. It has made a bid of $550 million in December 2012 for the remaining 49.5% of Camrose that it does not yet own and wants to buy it out from Israeli billionaire Dan Gertler’s stake.
