Judge Jeanine Pirro is a former prosecutor, judge, and elected official in the state of New York who has an estimated net worth of $5 million. Born Jeanine Ferris on June 2, 1951 in Elmira, New York, she graduated from Notre Dame High School in just three years instead of the usual four years. She earned her undergraduate degree from the University of Buffalo then her J.D. degree at Albany Law School in 1975.

Jeanine Ferris served as an Assistant District Attorney in Westchester County in 1978 and then became the first female to serve as a judge in Westchester County Court. She was also the first female District Attorney in 1993.

In 1997, Judge Pirro was appointed as Chair of the New York State Commission on Domestic Violence Fatalities. The report and recommendations from the commission resulted in legislation passing that enhanced protections of, and safeguards for, the victims of domestic abuse.

On August 10, 2005, Judge Jeanine Pirro announced that she would seek the Republican nomination to challenge first-term incumbent and Democrat Hillary Clinton in the 2006 election for the U.S. Senator from New York. She also went for the position of Attorney General but she was unsuccessful in both races.

Judge Pirro is a regular contributor to The Morning Show with Mike and Juliet. On May 5, 2008, CW announced that she would host a weekday television show to be named Judge Jeanine Pirro. Also known as Judge Pirro since its second season premiere, it is an American arbitration-based reality court show which debuted on September 22, 2008. The show has won the Daytime Emmy for Outstanding Legal/Courtroom Program before its cancellation in 2011.
