About Jacob the Jeweler

Bukharian-American jeweler Jacob the Jeweler has an estimated net worth of $100 thousand. Born Jacob Arabo or Yakov Arabov, he and his family emigrated from Uzbekistan to the United States when he was just 14. At 16, he enrolled in a jewelry-making program after he stopped his formal education. By the age of 17, he began his career as a jewelry designer. He opened a small kiosk in the Kaplan Jewelry Exchange. In 1986, after 15 years, he officially started his own company called Diamond Quasar at the age of 21 and began designing his own Jason & Co. branded jewelry. He began designing for several jewelry labels and private clients before he became popular in the sports and entertainment industry.

As the owner and founder of Jacob & Company, a high-end watch and jewelry maker, he became an award-winning diamond jewelry designer. His business and clientele has grown which led to him being known as “Jacob the Jeweler.” The company now caters the needs for watches and other accessories of high profile celebrities that include Jessica Simpson, Nick Lachey, Sean “P Diddy” Combs, Mary J. Blige, Janet Jackson, Christy Turlington, Beyonce, Sir Elton John, Bono, David Beckham and Rudy Giuliani.

Jacob the Jeweler has earned the 2006 Travel and Leisure Design Award for his Five Time Zone “The World is Yours” Timepiece. However, he was arrested on charges of money laundering and conspiracy in June 2006. He spent two and a half years in prison after pleading guilty with the charges in connection with the Detroit-based Black Mafia Family criminal organization in 2008. In April 2010, he was released from jail.
