Andrew Probert is an artist who has contributed to the designs of the Enterprise-D for Star Trek: Next Generation and the USS Enterprise for Star Trek: The Motion Picture. After he spent time in the United States Navy, he eventually studied at the Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, California.

He initially worked on Glen A. Larson's 1978 ABC miniseries called Battlestar Galactica which eventually allowed him to become recommended by artist Ralph McQuarrie. In Galactica, Andrew was able to contribute to the design for the physical spaceship models for the ragtag fleet that was seen in the opening title sequence of every episode in the series as well as the design of the Cylon Centurions.

In the year 1978, he got hired by Robert Abel and Associates to work as a concept designer or illustrator for Star Trek: The Motion Picture. After the replacement of Abel's group, he still survived the transition to the new effects supervisor, Douglas Trumbull. He became primarily responsible for the design of Vulcan and human space technology that was seen in the film which included the refitted starship Enterprise, Travel Pod, Space Drydock, Orbital office Complex, Vulcan long-range shuttlecraft, and Work Bee support vehicles. His concept sketches for the Klingon battlecruiser's bridge set eventually set the style for every Klingon ship interior.

From August 2018 to July 2019, Probert was asked to come back to Buba Films so that the look of the show's hero spaceship will appear upgraded as well as for the shuttlecraft, spacesuits, etc. This is for the Motion Picture version of the 2017 Fujiwara Manchester television series entitled "Mundo Probido" or Forbidden World.

Probert continues to create designs for film and television productions and occasionally appears at different media-related conventions.
