Born on February 22, 1950 in Santos, Sao Paolo, Brazil, Leal earned his estimated net worth of $1.8 billion as the co-chairman of the Board of Directors of Natura. He also owns 25% shares in the leading manufacturer and marketer of skin care, solar filters, cosmetics, perfumes, and hair care products in Brazil as well as seven other countries in Latin America and in France. He joined the Brazil’s version of Avon in 1979 and played a key role in turning it into a multi-billion dollar business. With the increased demand of the products in Brazil, Natura’s shares were up in the past year and his fortune has increased by $200 million.
A graduate of the University of Sao Paolo with a degree in Business Administration, Guilherme Peirao Leal began his career in financial institutions and FEPASA. He was fired at the public company for fighting corruption before joining Natura.
