A well known businessman, Steve Madden is the founder of a footwear company, Steve Madden Ltd. As of 2012, Steve Madden's net worth is estimated to be around $120 million.

Steve Madden Ltd. was hailed as the "Company of the Year" in 2006 by the Footwear News Achievement Awards. Steve Madden once served as the company's Chief Executive Officer. However, he was forced to resign as the company's CEO, and be removed from the board after he was convicted of securities fraud, money and stock manipulation. He was to serve 41 months in prison. After his resignation, he assigned himself as the company's creative consultant where he got to earn roughly around  $700,000 despite being in prison.

Together with their two children, Steve Madden currently lives with his wife, Wendy Ballew who previously served as the company's director of operations.
