Danish furniture tycoon, Lars Larsen, has an estimated net worth of $4.6 billion.

He is the CEO and founder of JYSK, a household retail chain, selling mattresses, furniture, and decor. In 2011, JYSK saw its revenues up about $180 million. He was brought up on a potato farm and apprenticed in a bedding store. He opened his first bedding warehouse in 1979. His cut-price furnishings chain is in the middle of a big international push, targeting China among other markets. Larsen is a consummate self-promoter: in 2004, he sent copies of his autobiography to every household in Denmark. Those 2.4 million copies make him the country's most widely-read author.
