Born on May 29, 1927 in Montreal, Quebec, Canada, this 85-year old businessman is known to be the Chairman and founder of the largest pharmacy chains in North America, the Jean Coutu Group. Jean Coutu Group was founded in 1969.

After selling its Brooks and Eckerd brands to Rite Aid in 2006 for $3.4 billion, Jean Coutu Group became the largest shareholder of Rite Aid. Jean Coutu's son, Michel, took over as the Co-Chairman of the board later on.

Coutu was named by Forbes Magazine as the 938th richest person in the world in 2012, and at the same time, he is the 22nd wealthiest person in Canada.
