Dan Rosensweig is an American business executive who has an estimated net worth of $25 million. Born in Dobbs Ferry, New York and raised in Scarsdale, New York, he went to Scarsdale High School and later attended Hobart and William Smith where he earned with a Bachelor of Arts in political science in 1983.

Rosensweig first worked at Pitney Bowes Dictaphone as a door-to-door seller of word processor in Manhattan, but was immediately laid off three hours later. He then worked for Ziff Davis Publishing Company as a cold caller selling magazines to mom-and-pop computer retail stores until 2000. He made PC Magazine the leading computer magazine in both audience reach and revenue during his tenure in the company.

From 2002 to 2007, he serves as the chief operating officer (COO) of Yahoo! Inc. He was also the President and CEO of Activision’s Guitar Hero Division. He joined Quadrangle Group, a private investment firm, in 2007 and is an Operating Principal focused on the firm’s media and communications private equity business. He was the President of CNET as well as the President and Chief Executive Officer of ZDNet.

Rosensweig is the President and CEO of online textbook-rental company Chegg.com, a start-up that has raised more than $160 million in venture capital including $57 million in November of 2009. Investors include Insight Venture Partners, Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers, and Foundation Capital. He currently serves on the advisory board of the non-profit DonorsChoose.org.
