London-based Swiss perfume tycoon Denz, 54, floated his fragrance company, Art & Fragrance, in Bern, valued at £54m. His British interests include Jaguar Fragrances.

Silvio Denz is the founder of Interparfums Holding AG, which now operates under the name Art & Fragrance SA. After his banking apprenticeship he held various functions between 1975 and 1980 at Philippe Morris Europe and André & Cie., Lausanne, as well as Miller Brewing Co., Milwaukee, USA. In 1980 he became Managing Director of Alrodo AG in Zurich, and purchased the company in 1984. He subsequently built up the Alrodo Group to become the largest chain of perfume stores in Switzerland. From 1994 Silvio Denz was Chairman of the Board of Alrodo AG and in 2000 sold the group to Marionnaud Parfumerie of France. Since then he has devoted his time to building up Interparfums Holding AG, now operating under the name Art & Fragrance SA. During this time he also acquired vineyards in Spain, France and Italy and acquired significant interests in the wine dealers Les Grands Vins Wermuth SA and Casa del Vino Ebinger SA, both in Zurich. He has lived in England since 2002 and is active in the property business in London.
