Butch Lewis was born in Woodbury, New Jersey in June 1946 and passed away in July 2011. He became famous for the management of the boxing brothers Leon Spinks and Michael Spinks. Lewis was able to get $13.5 million for Michael Spinks to fight Mike Tyson in 1988. However, Spinks was knocked out within 91 seconds. Lewis started out as a street hustler and a used car salesman. He was able to help guide Leon Spinks to a victory over Muhammad Ali for the heavyweight title in 1978. He was the founder of Butch Lewis Productions and joined with IMG Worldwide for the representation of minority celebrities and entertainers. Butch Lewis passed away on July 23, 2011 due to a massive heart attack.
