Born to the Redgrave family of actors in London in 1937, Vanessa’s father is the late Sir Michael Redgrave and her mother is Lady Redgrave. Vanessa’s net worth stands at $20 million. She is an English actress who performs on television, on the stage, and also in movies. She also takes interest and is part of political activism. Her career consists of more than eighty varied kinds of movies.
The reasons behind her such net worth are due to her excellent work as an actor. She has worked with the Royal Shakespeare Company in 1961 in “As You Like It”. This also led her to act in innumerable shows on Broadway and in London’s West End. Vanessa has won the Tony and Olivier Awards for her performances. Some of the movies where she did commendable performances are Queen of Scots, The Bostonians, Mary, Atonement and Mission Impossible. Arthur Miller and Tennessee Williams also propounded that Vanessa Redgrave is the “Greatest Living Actress of our Times”. It does not end here. Vanessa Redgrave remains the only British actress to win the Golden Globe, Screen Actors Guild Awards, Oscar, Tony, Cannes, and the Emmy. Winning so many awards is certainly a huge achievement.
Her first marriage to Tony Richardson gave her two beautiful daughters – Natasha Richardson who sadly died in 2009, and Joely Richardson. She has a son named Carlo Gabriel Nero from her Italian actor husband Franco Nero. They met in the very year Vanessa divorced her first husband. Redgrave also had a long-term affair with Timothy Dalton who was one of her co-actors.
