Richards Rawlings is an American car builder, cross-country racer, and television personality with an estimated net worth of $15 million. Born in Fort Worth, Texas, he began building cars and going to car shows with his father when he was a child. When he was 14, he began buying his own cars. He then went on to work as a fire fighter, paramedic, and police officer even before he turned 21. Later on, he became the owner and operator of his own printing and advertising company.
Rawlings afterward sold his printing company in order to launch Gas Monkey Garage. This move led him to have a hot rod shop that produced and shipped cars for clients from all over the world. Along with the many cars that he found, bought, received and restored, are the subject of the new Discovery Channel series Fast N’ Loud. The show began airing in June 2012 and featured him and his co-workers including Aaron Kaufman, KC Mathieu, and Scot McMilan.
Richard is a veteran of transcontinental road rallies. He twice won the Gumball 3000 and the Bullrun. He is the current world record holder in the Cannonball Run. He was even recognized by Jay Leno for his achievement after having broken the record that stood since 1979. He had covered the 2,811 miles from New York to Los Angeles in 31 hours and 59 minutes with an average speed of 87.6 miles per hour.
