Pohl joined Orange County Choppers (OCC) in 2004 as a Senior Designer. His career then started at Incredible Technologies which is based in Arlington Heights, Illinois. He was an Artist/Animator of videogames who worked on a digital pinball prototype that has been commissioned by OCC. He was also responsible in modeling and designed a number of choppers featured in the game. When he completed the project, one of the OCC co-founders Paul Tetul Sr., was so impressed with his work. He approached Pohl to join the team on and design for the firm full time.

At OCC, Jason Paul is in-charge of the two-dimensional drawings which are converted into three-dimensional plans. The firm became the subject of the popular reality series American Chopper and its spin-off American Chopper: Senior vs. Junior. American Chopper aired for six seasons on the Discovery Channel. Its spin-off premiered on TLC on August 12, 2010.
