Brent Musburger earned his wealth from his successful career as a sportscaster for the ESPN and ABC television networks. Brent has covered different sports divisions including the NBA, MLB, and NCAA football and basketball games. He has appeared as studio host for games and a half time host.

Brent’s career started with a minor umpiring for minor league basketball during the 1950s. He started his career as a sportswriter for a Chicago American newspaper, which does not exist anymore. Musburger worked with CBS as a sports anchor for WBBM radio and WBBM-TV. He did the play-by-play for CBS Sports in 1973.

Brent started getting recognition with his association with The NFL Today. The CBS’ NFL pregame show was rated #1 during his tenure. Musburger was the main sportscaster of CBS by the late 1980s. When CBS underwent a management change in 1990, Brent was fired. He became the face of ABC sports then. He was the main studio host during ABC’s coverage of the 1998 and the 2006 World Cup.

Musburger was born in Portland, Oregon. His parents Cec and Beryl Musburger raised him in Billings. Musburger married Arlene Clare Sander in 1963. The couple has two sons, Blake and Scott.

Musburger got in trouble when he was 12 as he and his brother stole a car. Later, he was sent to Northwestern University’s Medill School of Journalism. However, he eventually kicked out after a year for operating a car without a license.
