Born as Stephanie Dorthea Mills, Stephanie Mills is an American gospel, R&B singer and former Broadway performer with an estimated net worth of $1.5 million in 2012.

At the age of 9, Stephanie started his stage career when she appeared on her first play. Two years later, she won the Amateur Night which landed her a Broadway role as an orphaned child of a slave in the musical Maggie Flynn.

In 1973, she started her music recording career however her two albums didn’t succeed. Her name instantly rose to fame when she became a part of The Wiz, an African-American adaptation of The Wonderful Wizard of Oz, and during that time, she was dating Michael Jackson.
