Sheryl Lee Ralph is an American singer, actress and activist who has an estimated net worth of $5 million dollars.

Ralph started her career on the stage. In 1982, she was nominated for a Tony Award for Best Actress in a Musical for her role as Deena Jones in Dreamgirls. In 1984, Ralph released her only album, In the Evening.

In 2004, she was inducted as an honorary member of the Delta Sigma Theta sorority at the 47th National Convention in Las Vegas, Nevada. In 2008, Ralph was awarded an honorary doctorate of humane letters from Tougaloo College after giving the commencement address.

Sheryl Lee Ralph was born on December 30,1956 in Waterbury Connecticut. She graduated from Rutgers University. She won a scholarship in a competition at the American College Theater Festival, but quit medicine for the performing arts. She is married to Pennsylvania State Senator Vincent Hughes.
